This pet chinchilla site is part of the Galen's Garden network of specialist
sites catering for the keepers of small furry pet herbivores such as rabbits,
guinea pigs and chinchillas. Pet chinchillas are increasingly popular,
especially amongst people who are out at working during the day as they are most
active in the evening and sleep most of the day.
Most of the pet chinchilla information on this site is held on the main Galen's Garden site including chinchilla behaviour, chinchilla diet, chinchilla health, chinchilla housing, chinchilla origins and chinchilla physiology. Taken together, this body of information on chinchillas will get most prospective or new chinchilla owners off to a good start. We don't claim to be the world's experts on chinchillas but we do promise to gather as much information about sources of good chinchilla information so you don't have to trawl through hundreds of pages in your search for information.
The main purpose of this site is to allow chinchilla rescues, clubs. breeders and those who supply goods and services of interest to pet chinchilla keepers to have a free mini site on the www.pet-chinchilla.co.uk domain. In doing so we hope to gather as much information on pet chinchillas in one place as possible.
There are some already excellent chinchilla sites on the Internet and it is not our intention to duplicate the work of those more experienced in chinchilla keeping than ourselves. The chinchilla links section is a good place to start but we've also added direct links to chinchilla sites of particular interest as text links in the main chinchilla information pages.
We have a chinchilla section in our FAQ and in the Forum. We also have a Directory where we ask people who have information about chinchillas or who provide goods or services of interest to chinchilla owner, can have a free full page listing. The Directory is searchable by animal, county and service making it easy to locate local services for chinchillas.
